Probably the BEST Website Where Bend OR Chivers and Chivettes Unite!

About Us

**The Bend Chive Chapter is not officially associated with theChive.com – We just want to be cool like them**

TheCHIVE is an independently owned on-line photo gallery that is known to entertain, motivate, make people laugh, and to connect people around the nation with the same outlook on life. ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ was a propaganda phrase used in the UK during World War II while their cities where being bombed. Now, ‘Keep Calm and Chive On’ is a modern slang expression that means ‘Hang Loose’, ‘Be Cool’, ‘Live and Let Live’, ‘Enjoy Life’.

More importantly, Chive Charities is a non-profit organization that connects and inspires the on-line Chiver and Chivette community to donate time and money to orphaned causes in need of public awareness and financial assistance. Word is spreading fast and Bend has heard the news!

The Bend Chive Chapter is a local charitable organization of Chivers and Chivettes representing theCHIVE spirit and bringing the Bend community together to help dedicate their time and money to local people in need who may be suffering from health problems or financial instability. Ready Bend…GO!

At our Unofficial MeetUps, we are Partying with a Purpose – (we are always raising funds for a local family in need). For most events, we raffle off awesome local items like gift cards to restaurants and bars, art work, sweet ass Breed Love guitars, wine dinners, t-shirts, hats, neon signs, skis, hair cuts, massages, gift baskets of all sorts, BBQ dinners for 10 people from Baldy’s and so on.

If you are a local business that wants to donate anything for us to auction or raffle off at our next meetup, we will gladly display your logo on our site, add your ad to our rotating display panel at our meetups, say thank you very much, and talk highly about you and your business. Just email us at bendchivechapter@gmail.com or connect with us via Facebook HERE. KCCO!

My fourteen year-old’s lymphoma diagnosis came suddenly, the last week of school. We were referred to OHSU in Portland, where we stayed for seven straight weeks until we received the treatment plan: 5 months of chemo.

Very quickly, the money ran thin. I was unable to work in Bend while in Portland for treatments. And even when we were back in Bend, between the blood draws, the shots I needed to give him, and the many hospitalizations for fevers or blood-transfusions, it became impossible for me to keep working.

This is when I was introduced to the Chive Chapter of Bend. With smiles on their faces, and a “don’t worry we’ve got this” attitude, they quickly convinced me to allow them to organize a benefit. I have to admit I was nervous and somewhat ashamed of needing help at all. But they handled every detail, and assured me that “people want to help, we just have to give them a way to”.

I can tell you how professionally they organized the event, how quickly they gathered prizes and donations of goods and services for the raffle, and how much fun the actual event was, but what I can’t tell you is how that made us feel. Suddenly we weren’t alone. We had the strength and support of the community.

Three months later, his chemo is complete, his tumor has shrunk, and I am happy to report I am back to work part-time. We are not out of the woods yet, but my we are hopeful.

The Chive Chapter was there when we needed them. Please consider supporting them so they can support others like us and so we can all CHIVE ON.

Sincerely,

Laura
